Year 7

Our mentors guide Year 7 students as they begin secondary school English. We build grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension through interactive, fun lessons. In literature, students explore short stories, poetry, and character-driven texts. Each session is adapted to support their pace and confidence.

We aim to spark creativity and help students find their voice through reading and writing.

Year 8

Our mentors help Year 8 learners expand their skills in English Language and Literature.

We introduce new literary genres and writing formats to develop reading and writing fluency.

Grammar, essay structure, and text analysis are key parts of every session. Lessons are tailored to each student's needs and learning style. With our support, students grow confident in expressing their ideas clearly.

Year 9

Our mentors prepare Year 9 students for the transition into GCSE-level English. We introduce literary analysis, persuasive writing, and deeper comprehension skills. Sessions are focused on developing strong arguments, vocabulary, and text responses.

We tailor lessons to fill knowledge gaps and push high-achieving students further. By the end of the year, students are equipped for the rigour of Key Stage 4.

Year 10

Our mentors help Year 10 students build GCSE-level skills in English Language & Literature.

We cover key exam texts, essay writing, unseen analysis, and creative writing techniques.

Sessions include past paper practice and feedback tailored to the student’s goals. We develop structure, interpretation, and vocabulary across all areas. With our support, students build strong analytical and expressive skills.

Year 11

Our mentors guide Year 11 students through the final stage of GCSE English. We provide focused revision, timed writing practice, and exam strategy sessions. Lessons are built around personal progress, strengths, and exam targets.

We help students refine arguments, boost vocabulary, and deepen literary analysis. Our aim is to ensure students enter their exams confident, skilled, and well-prepared.

Year 12 (AS Level)

Our mentors support Year 12 students in mastering AS Level English Language or Literature.

We explore complex texts, critical perspectives, and advanced writing techniques. Lessons are structured around coursework, exam prep, and independent thought. We encourage debate, creativity, and critical engagement with literary themes. With consistent mentoring, students develop sophisticated written and analytical skills.

Year 13 (A Level)

Our mentors specialize in A Level English Language & Literature preparation. We dive deep into comparative texts, advanced writing, and theoretical analysis. Lessons are personalized to help with coursework, revision, and exam success.

We develop independent thinking, textual interpretation, and fluent writing. Our goal is to equip students with the skills and confidence for top university performance.
